Jane Seymour came to Henry's court in 1530 as lady-in-waiting to Catherine of Aragon . She continued to serve as lady-in-waiting to Anne Boleyn after Catherines divorce . She became Henry's third wife after Annes execution in 1536 . Jane Seymour died in childbirth the year after her marriage , but was survived by her son , who , aged nine , succeeded his father as Edward V1 in 1547
