' Plaque with Soloman Turning to Idolatry ' Pierre Reymond (French 1513-1584) painted enamel and copper, circa 1550-1573. Walters Art Musuem, Baltimore, Maryland.

44.197This plaque and it's companion 'Jael Killing Sisera ' are from a series ' The Power of Women ' based on engravings of around 1569, published in Antwerp by Phillips Galle (1537) See earlier post :'The Idolatry of Salomon ' Sebastiano Conca for subject description... Pierre Reymond (1513-84) had a large workshop in Limoges and specialised in mythological scenes. Reymond also made the enameled altarpiece commissioned by Anne de Montmorencey for the chapel of his Chateau d'Écouen (now the Musée de la Renaissance)
