'The Young Girl with a Straw Hat' is considered to be Friedrich von Amerling's masterpiece work. Painted while the artist visited Italy , it's prestige has risen constantly along with renewed interest in the Biedermeir school. After achieving a world record price in October 2008 it is now assured of remaining in Austria ,together with around 20 other works by Amerling in the Princely Collection at the Liechtenstein.
